Cache #3 on the BPRD Geocaching Passport
Welcome to Atkinson Nature Park!
This natural wooded area is located just south of the Walt Neuens Horse Arena. There is a 1.65-mile hiking and horse trail that has interpretive panels. The trail connects users to the existing riverfront trail system, too. This park was made possible by a donation of land and funds from the Atkinson family, a grant from the ND Outdoor Heritage Fund, help with parking lot and trail construction from Doosan Bobcat, and plantings from Audubon Great Plains.
Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) has partnered with the North Dakota Geocaching Association (NDGCA) and Bismarck-Mandan Area Geocachers to establish 12 geocaching sites within BPRD’s system of parks and trails.
To participate in the BPRD Geocache Challenge, take a passport from the container or get one in advance by printing it or picking it up from the park office during normal business hours. Match the hole punch to the coordinating number on the passport. Once you have found all 12 of the park caches, return to BPRD office at 400 E. Front Ave., Bismarck, to claim your prize!
Remember to place the container back exactly where you found it for the next visitor to enjoy!
