Geocache Description:

Cache #2 on the BPRD Geocaching Passport

Welcome to General Sibley Park!

What’s the history of this beautiful park and what makes this ecosystem unique and important? Find out the answers to these questions and more when you stroll along the 0.6-mile interpretive trail and involve yourself with the historical and environmental panels that tell a unique story. The trail winds along the western edge of the park with views of the mighty Missouri River.

General Sibley Park’s day-use area is available year-round sunrise to sunset. Parking is permitted outside of the park gates.

The park includes RV campsites with electrical hook-ups and a tent camping area with full-service restrooms, showers, water and dump stations. There are also picnic shelters, playgrounds, 18-hole disc golf course, boat ramp, amphitheater, walking paths and historical/interpretive panels.

Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) has partnered with the North Dakota Geocaching Association (NDGCA) and Bismarck-Mandan Area Geocachers to establish 12 geocaching sites within BPRD’s system of parks and trails.

To participate in the BPRD Geocache Challenge, take a passport from the container or get one in advance by printing it or picking it up from the park office during normal business hours. Match the hole punch to the coordinating number on the passport. Once you have found all 12 of the park caches, return to BPRD office at 400 E. Front Ave., Bismarck, to claim your prize!

Remember to place the container back exactly where you found it for the next visitor to enjoy!
