I love Lucy (boxes) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

stegarty: As noted by the local reviewer, this cache should not have been published in the first place. In setting the initial co-ordinates I misjudged how how far they were from the actual location, thinking it was just a few feet and this would be fine. Unfortunately I can't give accurate co-ordinates that don't overlap with an existing cache, so will archive this.

Geocache Description:

Lucy boxes can be found all over the UK and are typically left over from tram and trolley bus networks. The boxes were usually placed ever half mile long a tram route and were used isolate sections of the track from the power supply. Some were later retrofitted to help service the electric grid or telephone services.
The name 'Lucy Box' originates from the company that made the majority of them, at least in the early days, the Lucy Foundry in Oxford. This particular box may not be an official Lucy Box, as it does not have the company name cast on the box. There is a logo near the top of the box on both sides but i haven't been able to find the origins!
This box likely serviced the tram network that ran from Halifax town centre to King Cross Road. The tramway opened June 1898 and closed February 1939.
