Earn Your June Solstice Souvenir!
What better way to mark the Summer Solstice than to watch the latest sunset we will have all year! Plus, you can get a souvenir to boot. If you've never been to Kalithea Park in El Dorado Hills, it has a spectacular overlook of downtown Sacramento, the valley, and Folsom Lake. It's a great place to watch the sunset. I'll have a table near the posted coordinates with the log book, a few raffle items, and perhaps a treat or two. Please bring a camp chair or other place to sit as the location is in the middle of a grass field near the overlook. If the fields are in use for sports, I've provided alternative coordinates for picnic tables nearby.

There is a small parking lot at the given parking coords but if it's full you may need to park on the street and walk up the hill slightly. This park does get busy at sunset due to its scenic overlook.
Be aware that the park does close at sunset so we will need to disperse shortly after the sun goes down.
