A few miles east of here lie Chesebro and Palo Comado Canyons, a wild area of exceptional beauty managed by the National Park Service. While the NPS does a wonderful job of maintaining this area for all, they do have a rule which sort of puts a few roadblocks in the way of cachers wanting to bring other cachers to this wonderful place. No physical caches are allowed.
But that little issue didn't stop pianofab from bringing cachers out here. Prior to the Woolsey Fire, the area was scattered with icons for his Multis, each of which employed some natural, or other resident item containing information which he employed to allow cachers to determine final coordinates that were somewhere outside the boundaries of the NPS lands.
When pursuing these caches years ago I was often flabbergasted at the locations at which some of these virtual items were located. Why was pianofab even there?!
Anyway, while hiking out here recently I came across a similar item and thought, Why Not?
At the posted coordinates you will encounter a manmade object that was not placed by a cacher.
The final coordinates are N 34 13.ABC W 118 49.D

A = the number of teeth on the gear / 6
B = the number of letters in the manufacturer's city - 1
C = the number of raised circles squared
D = the number of raised small triangles × 32
checksum is 26
