This is the 120th 3rd Tuesday in Eldersburg. 3TIE is a monthly event for Geocachers to get together and share the joys and travails encountered in the pursuit of Finds. There are often discussions of puzzle solutions. And Panera has food. It’s a great time!
The June 3TIE will be the first of Summer*. More sweat, more bugs, but for many more time available for caching. How is Summertime for you?
*Summer doesn’t start until June 21 so what gives with saying June 18 is in the Summer? It has always seemed wrong for Spring to go as late as it does and for Summer to start as late as it does. The same for the other seasons as well. So when a “Meteorological” calendar of seasons was described several years ago, the logic was immediately apparent. The Meteorological seasons are simple to define and remember. Spring is March, April and May. Summer is June, July and August. Fall is September, October and November. And Winter is December, January and February. The “Astronomical” seasons are shifted 3 weeks earlier. That puts June 18 nearly 3 weeks into Summer!
