桑田記念児童遊園は幕末に活躍した蘭方医・桑田立斎の子孫である桑田家の寄付により設立されました。
桑田立斎は、深川に小児科を開業したり、北海道等で種痘も積極的におこなったそうです。
公園の名前が児童遊園となっているのもそんな小児医療に尽力をしたことから来ているのかもしれないですね。

Kuwata Memorial Children's Park was established with a donation from the Kuwata family, descendants of Ritsusai Kuwata, a Dutch doctor active at the end of the Edo period.
Kuwata Ritsusai opened a pediatric clinic in Fukagawa and was also active in the smallpox business in Hokkaido and other areas.
The name of the park, "Jido-Yuen" (children's playground), may be derived from the fact that he devoted himself to pediatric care.
The cache is located in the park.
