NOTE: This cache is one of three caches on this trail that has coordinates inside the lid for the MYSTERY CACHE which is located at: N42 25.ABC W071 34.DEF
This geocache is hidden in the KEYES CONSERVATION AREA in BOLTON. After parking, the trailhead is visible. Hit the trail and be sure to follow the yellow blazes as the trail is starting to get grown over a bit.
At GZ you will be looking for TWO ROCKS that meet at a point and then separate sort of in a V shape (see pic). The CACHE is a medium-sized, slightly tall container covered in dark green camouflage tape (see pic).
The cache is hidden underneath where the two rocks meet. There are three sticks that cover this area and the container. Be sure to place geocache back under the rocks and place the 3 sticks back over it. The cache is very close to the trail so keeping it as covered as possible will go a long way in keeping non-geocachers eyes from seeing it. There is red white & blue decor near the two rocks to help narrow your search.
The geocaching app doesn't show this trail so I've included a map, KEYES FARM TRAIL MAP to help you stay on course. There are yellow blazes on the trees but some are missing. For the most part the trail is visible but sometimes seems to fade. We've placed some branches along parts of the trail and trimmed back some of the overgrowth to help with navigating the trail.
The terrain is rugged with rolling hills. Even though it's only a mile out and back, it seems longer because of the terrain. Wearing hiking boots and bringing along water and Gatorade is encouraged.
Like the other trails in Bolton, HUNTING IS NOT ALLOWED and DOGS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. Enjoy the hike and as always Happy Caching!
