RILLS, ROOTS, & ROCKS is a cache series named for some of the terrain you will encounter while hiking the Headwaters Trail, in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. There are a lot of caches along the Lynn Loop / Headwaters / Cedar Mills trail system, and this series was meant to bring geocachers to the Headwaters Trail in particular. The terrain rating reflects the general state of the Headwaters trail (I would estimate T3), plus the long distance of the hike involved. You may need to cross some minor streams and walk through muddy areas, so wear appropriate footwear.
GPS may be less accurate in this terrain, so use your geo-senses. All the caches in the series are very close to the trail itself, so bushwhacking is not needed. Although these geocaches are in the forest, you will encounter other hikers on the trails, so use stealth if other people are around while you are taking the caches out or putting them back; please conceal them in the same way they were found.
This particular cache is a small screw-top cylinder, tucked into the hollow of a large tree on the west side of the trail, which rises above a lot of tangled roots. (It is also about 10 m south of a small footbridge, if you approach from the north).
