I am happy to be creating a couple of puzzle caches in advance of the 2024 Tri-State Treasures event. For 2021's festivities, in an effort to give you something that was entertaining without being too difficult I presented you with The Sweet Spot, which featured a giant circle as the entry point. For this cache, I thought it might be fun to revisist the same theme with a different twist.
Many years ago I came across the puzzle creations of Oklahoma CO CacheSleuth and I routinely check back to see what new and fun things he has come up with. While I was able to create "The Sweet Spot" on my own, I knew I wouldn't be able to recreate his implementation of the "Circles" game. But when I asked him about it he graciously agreed to create a version just for me to use here. If you're ever looking for some fun, check out this bookmark with all of his "Let's Play a Game" caches (the "Hextris" one is diabolical). And if you haven't seen his set of tools, you're going to want to save that link (the code tables alone are super).
To obtain the cache coordinates you will be playing an addicting game called "Circles." The object is simple: "Eat" smaller circles and avoid the bigger ones. If you beat the goal I've set (20), the coordinates to the cache will be given to you! But I'm betting some people will keep playing (and re-playing) long after that just to see how high they can go. Feel free to post your high score on the page.
Please note: This is an HTML5 app and should be playable from any modern browser, including your phone. However, it is highly recommended to play it from a computer as it will be much easier than playing on your smart phone (and FYI, I found it easier with a mouse than a track-pad. I also had good luck on a tablet with a stylus). If you choose to play from your smart phone, try using a stylus so you can see the circle better.
Have fun going in Circles!
