Large Letterbox (LLB) Series of Caches
This series of 36 caches is south of Sequim, out Palo Alto Road and into the Olympic
National Forest. All of them are placed “along a dirt road.” They’re mostly Forest Service
roads. The caches are being submitted in a fashion that will provide entertainment over
a few weeks. There will be little chance that the FTF’s will be logged by a single person
or team. Also, based on our experience in placing this series, cachers should have little
expectation that all 36 will be found in a single day.
The caches are between 10 feet and 300 feet from the road. They are of varying
difficulties to find and varying terrains. None require descending vertical slopes or
climbing rock walls. But many require mild to moderate bushwhacking including getting
over rocks and boulders and scrambling up and down steep slopes to GZ. Please
exercise caution in hunting for these caches and don’t go solo.
There is no cell phone service along these roads. It is recommended that you download
the information about these caches onto your phone or other GPS device BEFORE
heading out to find them. We tried our best to provide accurate coordinates for this
series, but GPS readings bounce around quite a bit in this area. We recommend using
the hints in looking for each cache and ensuring that you are looking on the right sides
of the roads.
Many thanks to many of our friends in the geocaching community for contributing
containers and camo to this effort. The containers are all larges. The caches are all
letterboxes. There are stamps and pads in each one for the letter-boxers. Please leave
the stamps and pads in the containers. Please also return the containers to their original
hiding spot.
Happy Hunting!
