A Fencing we will go...... in the Long Meadow
We will continue the replacing and mending of the fencing along the brook where the foothpath is now close to the brook edge due to bank erosion and areas where the posts are now rotten. The fencing keeps walkers safe and allows grazing of the fields by cattle during the late summer and autumn. This conservation management gives a greater diversity of wildflowers - great news for insects and bees!

How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Drop by if you have any time to spare (you don't need to stay for the full CITO!) and don't worry about not knowing what to do. The ranger will give instructions and there are always lots of friendly and helpful volunteers to assist. There is also trimming needed along the fenceline.
Where: Meet by the main gate at 0930 or find us in the long meadow (published coords) just look for the flag.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring your own gloves, all tools provided. Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments as it can be thirsty work!
