Puddy's Memorial Cache
Puddy was a wonderful cat that came into my life when I found her in my backyard in Young in 2007, and left me when she crossed the rainbow bridge in an apartment that overlooks this cache in 2023.
Puddy was the most remarkable little cat. She was sassy and confident, funny and fluffy, pretty and playful, snuggly and independent, purry and meowy (and sometimes - with good reason - the odd hiss too!).
We were the best of friends and we shared most of her 16 year life together. She saw me through multiple career changes, saw me fall in love, saw me through heartbreaks, commiserated when wrong Governments got elected (and celebrated the nights when democracy got it right!), she saw me through countless new hobbies and fashions and diets (I’m still vegan!), she shared my dreams and she shared my bed. Puddy knew me like no else ever will; and I knew her too.
There isn't a day that goes by I don't think of her and the love she gave me during her years beside me. It seemed fitting to make a memorial cache to her on this street. Our final home together was nearby, and (especially during the days/months/years of COVID lockdowns) we would spend our mornings on the balcony together overlooking this street and all its colourful leaves and characters. Puddy would soak in the sunbeams and watch the birds chirp and play, while I posted my latest run (and usually a selfie with Puddy) to Twitter. It was a simple time, and I miss it dreadfully.
Please hug your pets tight, and I would love you to post a photo of your pet (or your favourite animal!) when you log the find, in honour of the best little cat I will ever know.
Thanks for reading. Rest in Power, Puddy.
