This multi-cache is located in Hickory Woods Park, located between Crane and Munger Roads in Pittsfield Twp. Park hours are from sunrise to dark. There is ample parking in the park through the entrance off Crane Rd.
The original "May I See Your ID, Please?" cache was placed in 2010. Construction and improvements to the park necessitated the cache be archived in 2012. In the summer of 2016, I brought back a "redux" of the original cache, making a few tweaks. Unfortunately, in 2022 a major drain project took place in the park and the cache once again had to be archived.
Hopefully, the third time is the charm. Cachers who found one or both of the original caches will notice some similarities.
Stage 1: The posted coordinates will take you to a map of the park. If you look southeast from that map, just past the building, you will notice a triangular shaped flower garden with a sign. Make your way counter-clockwise along the path to that garden and use the information on the sign to gather information for Stage 2.
A = the last two digits of the year the park was dedicated
B = the number that represents the month the park was dedicated.
C = B * 8
D = the sum of the last two digits of the year the park was dedicated.
E = the number of letters in the day of the week the park was dedicated.
Stage 2: N 42 A.BC W 83 D9.EED
When you arrive at Stage 2 you will see a towering giant, which got a rebuild in 2022. Now standing more slender and taller, we respect its mighty power. Admire the engineering from afar, but look high to find its ID.
To find the missing North coordinates, take the ID and subtract 260. Now divide that answer by 3.
To find the missing West coordinates, take the ID and divide by 5. Then add 552.
This will give you what you need to find Stage 3.
Stage 3: N 42 12.___ W 83 39. ___
At Stage 3 you will see another towering giant which has weathered whatever Mother Nature has thrown her way. Check her ID to find the coordinates to the final.
