Like many properties in the area, Alpine used to house a full working orange grove. However, a series of freezes in the 30s, 50s, and 80s slowly destroyed the grove. Now the Friends of Alpine Groves lead tours of the historic farmhouse on Saturdays. Make sure to check out the view of the St Johns River on your visit and enjoy the rest of the trail.
