The cache is located in the town of Chelmsford’s newest conservation area, the 42-acre Koulas Farm. It is located at 155 Pine Hill Rd, just a short distance from route 110 via Hunt Rd north, then crossing over route 495 and quickly on to Pine Hill Rd. The parking area is ¼ mile up Pine Hill Rd.
Take the Blue Loop trail that starts directly from the back, right side of the parking area. The cache container is a large ammo can containing a log book and many items for all geocachers to enjoy.
If you continue on after finding cache, just a short distance away you can either continue on the Blue Loop trail which will take you back close to where you started on the trail or take the Left Meadow trail which swings off to the right and circles around bringing you back to the parking lot. Total time to complete is approximately 20 minutes.
The farm has been in existence since the early 1900s when Manthos and Constantina Koulas emigrated from Greece and bought the current land. They grew vegetables and sold them in Boston, traveling by horse and wagon. Their son Charles, a 1936 graduate of Chelmsford High School, began running the family farm in 1942, raising cows and chickens, eventually having 100 head of cattle, primarily for dairy. He stopped farming in 1982 and sold the cows. Charles died in 2008 at age 89.
