Walking through Westgate Series
Westgate is a beautiful neighborhood with lots of sidewalks and pocket parks. The bayou behind it is also one of the most full of wildflowers I've seen around these parts, so my runs often bring me here. Peak wildflower season is about March - May, at which point this place does get, unfortunately, mowed. Still beautiful on the off-season, I wanted to provide a short series through the neighborhood to be completed on a walk or bike ride through the neighborhood. The caches are also accessible as PNGs for a hot summer day.
#2: More Wildflowers
It’s easy to walk from the first in this series over to this second spot. There’s always lots of birds and insects as well. Watch out for ants, although just don't step right on their huge mounds and you will be fine.
If you haven’t already, identify a few more wildflowers!
