The historic Penrose House, built in 1824 is at this GZ as the offices for the St. George Steam Packet Company a Liverpool-based steamship company that would go out of business in 1843 replaced by the Cork Steamship Company. The St. George company made their mark on the steamship industry when On April 4th, 1838 their ship known as the Sirius departed from Penrose’s Quay outside the offices on what was to become the very first transatlantic crossing by a steam-powered vessel. The Sirius arrived in New York on April 22nd to great excitement.
The St. George company also left their mark on Cork not only with the actual building but with the statue of Saint George slaying the dragon, which sits on top on the building above the main enterence. St George is best known in this country as the Patreon Saint of England the English flag is the Saint Georges cross in his honour but George like St Patrick (Ireland and Nigeria) is a Patreon to more than 1 nation he is the Patreon in England, Russia, all of Iberia (Spain and Portugal and Catalonian regions of Spain, FC Barcelona feature his cross on their football badge), Brazil, Bosnia, Montenegro and Serbia among other places.
Anyway as the name suggests the cache is somewhere under the dragon at street level.
