THE SPELLING BEE
As a kid, I was very good at spelling bees - B-E-E-S.
Let's see how good you are at spelling by playing a game of True or False. There are fifteen questions below, all of which relate to spelling. The word that has been given in the question will either be a real word, or a mis-spelling of a known word. At the end, you will get a password (which may or may not be a real word), which you can enter into the Certitude link below to be given the coordinates.
As an example, see questions 0, 00, and 000 below:
0. The word is "BAE". The word is:
- (R) A real word, meaning "(n) romantic partner (slang)". Or:
- (H) A mis-spelling of BAY, meaning "(n) inlet of water".
BAE is a real word (although the author does not endorse its usage), so the correct letter is R - even though BAY is also a real word.
00. The word is CRIPTIC. The word is:
- (U) A real word, meaning "(n) an insect related to stick insects". Or:
- (B) A mis-spelling of CRYPTIC, meaning "(adj) difficult to comprehend".
CRIPTIC is not a real word, so the correct letter is B.
000. The word is PSCHENT. The word is:
- (F) A real word, meaning "(n) an ancient Egyptian crown". Or:
- (X) A mis-spelling of SKHENT, meaning "(n) an ancient Egyptian snake".
SKHENT is not a real word, but PSCHENT is, so the correct letter is F.
