The 21st Annual Kearney Picnic
The lunch, milestones, and prizes portion of the picnic will run from approximately 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 and take place at the big shelter located at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area near Kearney, NE.
Nebraskache will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs and ask that you bring a side-dish or dessert to share with the others in attendance and for you and your guests. Nebraskache will provide flatware, plates, buns and condiments.
We'll have door prizes, present milestone awards (Click here to go to the Nebraskache Milestone Reporting form), share stories, and have some games and and other activities for anyone wanting to participate.
This years game will be a poker run starting after the picnic around 2:00pm and running until 4:00pm. Entry fee is $5 ($2 will go back to Nebraskache and $3 will be prize fund). Prize fund will be split 50%, 30% and 20% for first - third.
We'll break for some other activites in the afternoon and reconvene at 7:00 P.M. for a campfire complete with stories and peach cobbler at this same location.
Sunday morning will be a pancake breakfast. Breakfast will run from approximately 8:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 8th 2024 and take place at the big shelter located at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area near Kearney, NE.
The Grubbs will be making pancakes and holding a freewill donation. Anything donated over the cost of breakfast supplies will be donated back to Nebraskache. Nebraskache will provide flatware, plates, buns and condiments.
Whether you are a newbie or a caching veteran, we invite you for a day or two of fun and quite possibly some geocaching!
