Geocache Description:

Westmoreland Fayette, Old Trails, Cache to Eagle #3
A Scout is Helpful

This is the third cache in a new series called “Cache to Eagle” which highlights Eagle Service Projects by youth from the Westmoreland Fayette Council.

This Eagle Project by a Scout from Smithfield Troop 681 involved cleaning the memorials and cemetery area, and replacing the wooden fence.

As symbolized by the acorn, this cache reminds us to 'leave a legacy'.  The acorn symbolizes the potential for growth and prosperity, as a small acorn can grow into a mighty oak tree that can live for over 1,000 years.  'He who plants an oak tree does so knowing the shade provided will be for future generations.'  What will your legacy be?

Scouting provides a tremendous number of service hours to the community each year.

Look high to the heavens where the mighty red maple tree branches to shade the mourners below. This cache will make you go 'nuts'!
