Welcome to the 10th Semi-Occassional Bogue Chitto gathering. This will be a celebration of several anniversarys.
- For geocaching this year is their 25th anniversary.
- For Blue Canary this year is his 22nd anniversary
- It is 18 years since the first event in Bogue Chitto.
- For isht kinta this is his 10th anniversary.
While the gatherings have used various names over the years and Blue Canary wasn't the host of all of them, we have always had a good time. This year we will meet in the meeting room of the Bogue Chitto Fire Department. The building is located on the northwest corner of U. S. Highway 51 and Bogue Chitto Road. Please park on the east (Highway 51) side of the building and enter through the door on that side. Do not block the bay doors.
We will have pizza and soft drinks or water for lunch. Please give me an idea of how many will be in your party in your will attend log.
Please bring any trackables that you would like for others to discover or move along..
- Blue Canary will have his trackable collection to discover which includes many Lackey, Reviewer and German trackables that you may not have seen before.
The schedule is as follows.
11:00 Event begins. Tables for discovery and trading of trackables will be set up.
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Drawings for door prizes will begin. Included are:
- Complete set of 2023 Going Caching cards
- Complete set of 2024 Going Caching cards
- Random selection of Mega event t-shirts (never worn)
- Reviewer and Lackey trackables
- Random selection of Mega event geocoins
- Geocaching supplies and TOTT
- One year Geocaching premium memberships (the cards they are on are also trackable)
Blue Canary's trackable collection had grown to over 100 pounds of trackables. This became heavier than was convenient to take to events. He has decided to thin the collection and several activated trackables will be included in the door prizes.
If there are still door prizes left after everyone's number has been called, we will start over until all the prizes are gone.
There will be an area next to the trackables that want to travel table with Geocaching related give away items. If you have an item you received somewhere but don't use or want, leave it on the free item table. If you see one or more items on the table you would like, grab it.
12:30 isht kinta will be available for any questions concerning placing and maintaining geocaches.
1:00 Have a safe trip home.
NOTE: While the building is considered handicap accessible, the size of the gravel in the parking lot may make it difficult to roll a wheelchair.
There will be some new geocaches publsh during the morning prior to the event and there are two Adventure Labs that published in December in McComb and Brookhaven.
