We will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching with a fun event. The park is accessed by a road behind the Glocester Senior Center, just west of the rotary.
Activities - all optional - include a trunk swap, a presentation on knot tying, tips and tricks from reviewers, and Geolympics. You are welcome to just come and hang out - even if you are brand new. You can learn about caching from some veteran cachers. Leashed dogs are welcome.
If you'd like to participate in the trunk swap, bring anything you'd like to trade; think of it as a giant swag swap. Maybe you have many extra pens, some treats your dog doesn't like, even clothing you don't need. Your trash may be someone's treasure.
Geolympics will involve racing to do certain geocaching tasks properly and quickly. This might include log rolling, opening and closing ammo cans, and the like. We will have prizes!
The event will be held rain or shine, at the pavilion at Glocester Memorial Park, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 12-2pm. Thanks to Glocester Recreation for welcoming us! There are amenities near the event, including a playground and multiple sports facilities - even an outdoor skating rink, but it probably won't be available in mid-April.
