In 2025, the geocaching community is celebrating its 25th anniversary with worldwide events and new features. This milestone marks a quarter-century of unforgettable adventures and community building through the treasure hunting game. Geocaching HQ is launching a new locationless cache called "Where's 25?" and encouraging themed cache hides to inspire creativity and exploration. A new locationless cache, "GCA2025 Where's 25?", will be published, challenging geocachers to find and log an already existing "25" in the real world.
Did you know that in numerology "25" is seen as a harmonious combination of the energies of 2 (balance, harmony) and 5 (change, adventure). "25" is also linked to intuition, inner wisdom, and trusting one's inner voice (hmmmm we call that geosense).
To celebrate let's do all things 25:
- Look up your 25th cache find and tell us about your early days of geocaching
- Look up your 25th souvenir and tell us how it was obtained
- For those that have cached in more than 25 states, which was your 25th
- Have you found your locationless 25 cache? What did you choose?
- OPTIONAL: wear 25 (a number on clothing or badge or 25 somethings pinned to your hat or shirt. Be Creative!)
- OPTIONAL: bring an increment of 25 to help support CAG geocaching events (that can be 25 logs, 25 pieces of SWAG for Camp Manee-K containers or increments of money to support Camp Manee-K and DTFH events). There is NO FEE to attend this event.
