Saturday Night: At this stage the forecast is for rain so please come prepared. We should be able to have the event indoors in Groom's Cottage. It's a BYO everything including plates, cutlery and cups. So a plate to share and/or a meal for yourself. I will provide champagne but bring any other drinks that you want.
Saturday Bushwalk: Weather permitting, Davinells and I are planning on doing a bushwalk to Araucaria Lookout, leaving at 8am from the Binna Burra trailhead. It's 18km return and will take about 5-7 hours at a steady pace. The weather is looking ok for the morning.
I have a lot to celebrate in 2025 - 10 years since finding my first geocache with my daughter (in April), a significant birthday (October), and 35 years of marriage (July). So, as bushwalking is a passion of mine, I thought the best place to celebrate would be in the bush in Lamington National Park.
Hubby and I will be spending the weekend there (Friday and Saturday nights) and bushwalking (and geocaching) during both days so I hope others can join us. There are plenty of options for staying - from camping to the upmarket lodge. Please contact Binna Burra Lodge to book.
The official event will be at Groom's Cottage and Bushwalker's Bar (posted coordinates) from 5-7pm (7pm is closing time) for drinks and dinner if you wish (at own expense). Food options include pizzas and cheese platters plus a variety of local beer (tap and cans), cider, wine and soft drinks. There is seating indoors and out. So even if it's raining, we should be ok.
