Back on August 16, 2022 Mikey Mac hosted a lunch time event at Doeb's Pizza. Here is what was written on the cache page:
Once or twice a month, Mikey Mac and vj24 meet for lunch in Holland. This location is one of our favorites. There isn't a ton of room, but it should easily accommodate the relatively small number of cachers we'd expect for a weekday lunch gathering. A purchase is not required, though the food here is excellent.
This lunch time event was hosted every couple of weeks by either vj24 or Mikey Mac. It would move around to different locations, and would change days as schedules dictated, but it became a regular thing. The attendance would ebb and flow, but there were always a few who would show up.
As time went on, the popularity of the event grew, and a regular crew of 6-8 cachers would come to each event. Eventually, the event was happening each week with Doeb's becoming the regular place to go. Many different cachers from the lakeshore and beyond would attend, including cachers from Florida, Kansas, and Washington.
The 3 year anniversary of this event shows that it is not slowing down.
I wanted to use my CCE to celebrate our caching community. Due to this event, I've become friends with so many. Who would have thought that the first lunch event hosted by Mikey Mac and vj24 would turn into what it has.
