Geocache Description:

Kingston Peninsula Heritage (KPH) and Capital Region Association of Geocachers (CRAG) have teamed up to bring you this community event in celebration of 25 years of geocaching and the launch of an Atlantic Canada's Hidden Histories Geotour segment on the peninsula. There is a Geocoin Challenge, a new Adventure Lab with associated bonus cache, and a few new traditional geocaches to keep you busy while exploring the peninsula.

You may want to plan on spending the day if you have never been there before. The scenery is lovely, the roads are twisty and turny, and the Farmers Market will be taking place in the morning. If coming from the west, you have the choice of three ferries to get to the peninsula. As many folks travel to the peninsula for the Farmers Market there are usually line-ups for the ferry.  Check out this information provided by the Farmers Market.

More about the Coin Challenge

There will be 100 geocoins available to be earned by completing the challenge which involves visiting 7 Adventure Lab locations and finding the associated bonus traditional geocache, all of which are on the Kingston Peninsula. Driving time to complete the challenge portion ( 7 locations) of the 10 location AL is approximately 1 1/2 hours but who knows how long you may want to linger at some of the scenic or interesting locations. Please note that cell service on the peninsula can be spotty for some service providers, so be sure to open the AL when the service is good and keep it open for the duration to avoid possible frustration.  You will have to get out of your car at each location to find the answer to the question.  Please choose a safe parking spot and be mindful of traffic if that winds up being the shoulder or a pull-off across the road.

The Black History Stories of the Kingston Peninsula Adventure Lab will go live at 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 17th at which time the ACHH2: Kingston Peninsula History AL Bonus will also be published, and the passport will be available here.  Passports can also be picked up at the event.
