Geocache Description:

KAUNAS GEOFORTRESS OPENING: MEET & GREET AT POWDER KEG EVENT

We invite you to the old Kaunas Fortress gunpowder magazine, which has come back to life as a space for artistic activities – it now hosts various events such as Midsummer celebrations, educational programs, camps, guided tours, and community gatherings. A dedicated crew is actively involved, and maintenance work is ongoing.

Today, the “gunpowder” attracts people not only because of its convenient location in the city but also thanks to its events, unique atmosphere, and adaptation for the arts – serving as a venue for exhibitions and as a cozy, distinctive oasis in the heart of the city.

In this community celebration event you will find:

  • concerts (rock bands with members who are also geocachers: Oshia and GYVA)
  • pleasant atmoshpere with DJ NAINA sounds
  • food and beverages court
  • guided tours around the event site
  • geocaches, of course

Attention: Limited parking spaces available. Please leave your cars and use public transport to get to the event. Take bus number 34 to the Jašiūnai stop or come on foot from the train station.
