I apologize for the convoluted nature of this. I want to show you something I think is interesting, but I’m unable to hide a cache right at that location because another cache is too close. So please pardon the extra steps.
The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. Solve this two-step puzzle to find it. Solve the first step at home. Solve the second step in the field.
There is a site in Hillsboro that honors the annual Hillsboro Air Show with a display of models of five real aircraft of local significance. The models were built by Glen Geller and Curt Oliver and include:

Puzzle Part One: The year that Beachey flew the Gelatine from the Expo to Fort Vancouver is XXXX. Add X.XXX to both the north and west of these dummy coordinates:
N 45° 29.709 W 122° 54.936
Part One checksum (total of the digits): N = 24; W = 29
Puzzle Part Two: Go to those new coordinates. Look up and admire the model of the Gelatine.
Then go about 45-50 feet northish from it to a large green utility box. In the upper right corner of the west side (the side away from the parking lot) is a sign with green letters and a sign with blue letters. .
For the North coordinates to the final, look at the green letters:
- If FR3, N 45° 31.663
- If TX7, N 45° 31.651
- If ELEC, N 45° 31.612
For the West coordinates to the final, look at the blue letters:
- If weg, W 122° 56.720
- If trn, W 122° 57.549
- If util, W 122° 57.149
