'Tully Heads
The Pennings found their piece of paradise on the foreshore at Tully Heads (south of Penning Park) and built the first Tully Heads Caravan Park. Their land was little more than a stretch of sand but they worked hard to establish and maintain the landscaped gardens. Ann enjoyed meeting tourists and providing helpful information, and her vivacious personality made for many return customers from Tully and further afield. She and Hank were active supporters of the tourism development association. Hank had great physical and mental stamina. With Anna's support, he fought a long battle with authorities to get basic facilities such as a sealed road, electricity, town water and telephone lines. The caravan park was destroyed by cyclone Larry in 2006
