Geocache Description:


There once was a small building along the railroad tracks that served as a station, just a stove and a door. There was a sign on it that said Glendale. That is gone now and the tracks are not in this city. Incorporated in 1912, Glendale is a quiet small town between Kirkwood and Webster Groves. The "downtown" area has most of the city offices, a deli, chiropractor, and an antique shop, and an townhouse complex north of the police station. Where the antique shop is used to be Glendale Food Shop but was called Brownie's. And the was also Hall's Drug Store on the north side of what is now city hall. A small pharmacy that also had a soda fountain and comic book rack. I used to get chocolate shakes there. The city office complex has grown of course, but I miss the old shops.
