Nelijäs Spotti jatkaa näillä paikkeilla olleiden kolmen kätkön "sarjaa".

Hupisaarille piilotettiin toukokuussa 2002 Oulun ensimmäinen (ja Suomen 31.) kätkö Aleksi's spot, joka ehti päätyä arkistoon ennen yhtäkään löytöä. Adoption jälkeen kätkön löysi reilut 10 kätköilijää, kunnes se katosi lopullisesti vuonna 2004.
Vuonna 2008 paikalle ilmestyi uusi kätkö, Spot 2, joka ehtikin olla paikalla kahdeksan vuotta keräten 1400 löytöä ennen arkistoon päätymistään keväällä 2016.
Kolmannen tulemisensa "Spot" sai vain parisen kuukautta edellisen kätkön arkistoinnista, kun 3rd Spot - Oulu Numeral 3 ilmestyi haettavaksi. Purkin ehti löytyä yli 800 kertaa ennen kuin se päätyi arkistoon joulun alla vuonna 2019.
Kätköpaikalla on sattunut ja tapahtunut monenlaista näiden parinkymmenen vuoden aikana, kun "Spot-kätköt" ovat ilostuttaneet kätköilijöitä. On nähty sorsia, oravia, siilejä, hääparien valokuvaussessioita, ohijuoksutuksia, tulvia, tuhmia kauneuspadon ylittäjiä, putkimiesarmeija (aivan!), puistotyöntekijöitä, illanviettoporukoita, vessakulttuuria, arkistoidun kätkön löytöjä ja adoptiopyyntöjä... Onpa myös molskahdettu komeasti veteen. Liekö kukaan on löytänyt näitä kaikkia kolmea aiempaa toteutusta?
Nelijäs Spotti pittää yllä "Spot"-kätköjen hyvvää historijjaa. Hupisaarilla on muutenkin usseita "spotteja", misä kuleksia ja kattella luontua, ihimisiä, elläimiä ja vaikka syyä jäätelyä. Ookkonää jo käyny esimerkiksi ihimettelmäsä Oulu-kirijaimia, outuva kesäteatteriviritelmää, kasvihuoneita tai leikkipuistua? (Tämmönen murre on tullista tulleen tyrnäväläisen mielestä aivan riittävän hyvvää oulua, mutta kommentoijja saa ihan vappaasti!)
HUOM! Jos vieressä on muuta porukkaa, palaa etsimään myöhemmin! Kätkö ei ole kivikossa, kyltissä tai kauneuspadossa. Sinne ei ole tarpeen mennä etsimään! Ei vaadi myöskään pusikoissa rymyämistä. Kun olet pelipaikoilla, laita naattikone taskuun ja etsimään (koordinaatit saattavat heittää hieman).

This cache is the fourth 'part' of 'Spot caches' in Oulu near this location.
The first cache in Oulu (and the 31st in Finland) was hidden at Hupisaaret park ('Fun Islands') in May 2002 near this location. The cache, Aleksi's spot, was archived before anyone found it. However after adoption the cache was found by a total of around ten cachers until it went missing in 2004.
In 2008 a new cache was published in this location - Spot 2. This cache was around for eight years and around 1 400 cachers found it before it was archived in spring 2016.
Third version of this 'Spot' was published a couple of months after the previous one was archived - 3rd Spot - Oulu Numeral 3. This cache got around 800 finds before if was archived around Christmas 2019.
Quite a lot has happened at this cache location during these twenty-something years of 'Spot caches'. People have spotted ducks, squirrels, hedgehogs, wedding couples getting their photos taken, floods, naughty people crossing the dam, an army of plumbers (what?), picnickers, unofficial public toilet, founds on archived caches and requests for adoption... Someone also fell in the water while searching a cache. Wonder if anyone has found all these three 'Spot caches'?
Nelijäs Spotti ('fourth spot' in Oulu dialect) keeps the 'Spot cache' history alive. While you're here, please check also other activities Hupisaaret park has to offer - nature, animals, cafe and ice cream kiosks, huge Oulu letters, weird-looking summer theater, greenhouses (one is open for public for free!), playground...
NB! If there's geomuggles near the cache, please don't search. Return later. The cache is not hidden in the rocks, the sign or the dam. No need to search there! Finding the cache does not require any wild adventures in the bushes. When you're near the cache location put your GPS device away and start searching (the coordinates might be a bit off for some devices).
