Welcome to Sylvester Baxter Riverfront Park in Assembly Row, Somerville, MA. This winding path takes you along the outskirts of Assembly as it meanders along the Mystic River, named for the individual that helped establish the US regional park system, Sylvester Baxter. Born in Massachusetts and later studying in Germany, Baxter was an accomplished writer, poet, and a well known urban planner. A small plaque resides at the north entrance near where you will find this cache and takes you along the riverfront as you take in the natural scenery juxtaposed to the growing concrete jungle of Assembly Row. Take in the scene and perhaps some food and drink on your walk. We hope this cache introduces you to an area that we had lived in for years and where we started our geocaching adventures and small family.
