The latest instalment in a series of (almost*) annual events in which a bunch of insomniacs gather at the war memorial on Coombe Hill at midnight and eat their own body weight in cake.
* Except 2020. We had other things on our minds that year.

Welcome to Midnight Meet for Munchies at the Monument. That's when geocachers from across the region decide to forego their comfortable sofas and warm beds in favour of standing by a monument in the middle of nowhere at night. Who says adults always have to be sensible?
The event will run from 11:15pm on Friday 23rd August to 12:15am on Saturday 24th August 2024. Cake isn't mandatory, but strongly encouraged. An empty stomach is however a necessity.
There's uneven terrain on route to the monument, so stout footwear and a torch for every person are essential. It's also outdoors and there's nowhere to shelter if it rains so keep an eye on the forecast and dress appropriately. Remember that there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. Also keep in mind that the temperature drops during the night so a blanket to sit under would be a good idea, particularly for smaller cachers.
- When: 11.15pm on Friday 23rd to 12.15am on Saturday 24th August 2024
- Where: Coombe Hill monument, near Wendover, Bucks
- Who: Any geocachers or geodogs, young and old. If you've never been to an event before and would like to come let me know in advance and I will make you feel particularly welcome!
- Why: Why not?
- How much: Parking at the recommended parking is free, as is access to the site. Please keep the noise down at the car park and don't leave your valuables on display
Please post a Will Attend log if you would like to come and remember to bring food to share. A thermos or two of cocoa wouldn't go amiss either!
