This cache is placed in Valdez Park. It is a small neighbourhood off-leash dog park, comprised of an open field lined by trees with views of the North Shore Mountains over the treeline. It has a few benches and plenty of free street parking.
There are many different types of trees that line this park including oak, maple, cedar and some fruit bearing trees. If you come in the right season, you may be able to find a sweet treat (besides the cache of course). Your host for this cache is a Deodar Cedar (Cedrus deodara) - a rather unique conifer that procudes rose-like brown cones.
This is a unique DT rating for a reason. The climb up to the cache is challenging and the cache is camoflauged well in a custom container that unscrews from the top. Please do not overtighten the cap when rehiding it. Also, be careful not to drop any part of the cache, otherwise you may need to complete the climb more than once!
This is a popular park for dogs, so stealth is required to avoid being spotted by muggles or their dogs during your search.
