Hallo und Glückauf,
willkommen auf dem Hügel. Hier lässt sich Alfred Krupp, wohl der bekannteste Industrielle des Ruhrgebiets, das bekannteste Eigenheim des Ruhrgebiets bauen.
1864 kauft Krupp das Gelände des Klosterbuschhofes, dem die Gegen bis dahin gehört. Fünf Jahre später beginnt der Bau der Villa, der, aufgehalten durch technische Probleme und Streit mit Architekten und Bauunternehmern, bis 1873 dauert.
Schon Alfred Krupp lässt seine Villa mit modernster Technik wie Heizung und Gasbeleuchtung versehen. Sein Sohn Friedrich Alfred Krupp fügt luxuriöse Ausstattungen wie Tennisplätze im Park oder teure Wandteppiche in der Villa hinzu. Außerdem legt er eine Kunstsammlung an und veranstaltet regelmäßige Feste für die High Society. Auch Kaiser Wilhelm II. ist gern gesehener Gast auf dem Hügel.
Zwei weitere Generationen der Familie Krupp bzw. Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach leben in der Villa bis sie 1945 von US-Soldaten besetzt und zum Sitz der alliierten Kohlenkontrollkommission erklärt wird.
1952 erhält die Familie Krupp die Villa zurück und öffnet sie für die Öffentlichkeit. Seitdem dient die Villa Hügel als Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsort sowie als Repräsentationsort für den ThyssenKrupp-Konzern. Außerdem haben die von Krupp-Manager Berthold Beitz gegründete Kulturstiftung Ruhr und das Historische Archiv Krupp ihren Sitz auf dem Hügel.
Wenn du erst die Villa und den Park besuchen willst, kannst du dir hier ein Ticket lösen. Wenn du aber vorher den Cache finden möchtest, schau dir mal die Eisenbahnbrücke an. Vielleicht bis du ja mit der S-Bahn hergekommen. Dann bist an dem Bahnhof ausgestiegen, den Krupp eigens für sich und seine Gäste hat bauen lassen.
Aus welchem Jahr aber stammt die Eisenbahnbrücke, die jetzt über den Weg führt? Tipp: Die Jahreszahl (nur die letzten beiden Ziffern) steht mehrfach auf der Brücke. Füge die letzten beiden Ziffern der Zahl für X in die Koordinaten des Finals ein.

Wichtig: Der Cache liegt NICHT auf dem Gelände der Villa Hügel. Um zum Cache zu kommen, gehst du am besten zuerst über den angegebenen Wegpunkt.

Welcome to the Hügel (hill). This is where Alfred Krupp, probably the most famous industrialist in the Ruhr region, had the Ruhr region's most famous home built.
In 1864, Krupp bought the site of the Klosterbuschhof, which had owned the property up until then. Five years later, construction of the villa begins, which, held up by technical problems and disputes with architects and building contractors, lasts until 1873.
Alfred Krupp had his villa equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as heating and gas lighting. His son Friedrich Alfred Krupp adds luxurious furnishings such as tennis courts in the park and expensive tapestries in the villa. He also builds up an art collection and organises regular parties for high society. Kaiser Wilhelm II is also a welcome guest on the hill.
Two further generations of the Krupp and Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach family live in the villa until it is occupied by US soldiers in 1945 and declared the headquarters of the Allied Coal Control Commission.
In 1952, the Krupp family regains the villa and opens it to the public. Since then, Villa Hügel has served as an exhibition and event venue as well as a representative centre for the ThyssenKrupp corporation. In addition, the Ruhr Cultural Foundation founded by Krupp manager Berthold Beitz and the Krupp Historical Archive have their headquarters on the hill.
If you want to visit the villa and the park first, you can buy a ticket here. But if you want to find the cache first, take a look at the railway bridge. Maybe you travelled here on the S-Bahn. Then you got off at the railway station that Krupp had built especially for himself and his guests.
But what year was the railway bridge that now crosses the path built? Hint: The year (only the last two digits) appears several times on the bridge. Insert the last two digits of the number for X into the coordinates of the final.
