Geocache Description:

2024 AGC XI - Busy Waterways is located above the edge of the Willamette River, which was the main source of transportation during the city of Albany's early history in the 1800's. From the first steamboat's arrival, to ferries transporting people, sheep, hogs, freight, and much more, this waterway has always been a busy place. To the west (left) you can see the supports from the original Steel Bridge, which was the longest bridge made of steel in Oregon when it was built in 1893. To the east (right) is the Ellsworth Bridge that replaced it.

Please respect the park's hours and only seek this cache from 6am-11pm. Bring your own pen.

This cache was part of the 2024 Albany Geocoin Challenge XI. The coin challenge is now over, but the cache is still available to find.
