This series takes you down "Cougar" highway highlighting all the great coaches in WSU history. Start near Washtucna and head East towards Pullman. Every cache is placed at an area you can pull completely off the highway. Do not stop in the road or on the shoulder and be careful pulling off and back on as the traffic moves fast. About Mike Leach
Mike Leach was hired at WSU in 2012 and led the team through the 2019 season. During his time at WSU he went 55-47 and took the cougs to 5 bowl games.
As of the posting of this series, Mike Leach is my favorite WSU head coach.
Leach is known for building potent offenses, directing passing-oriented teams in a spread offense system known as the air raid offense, which Leach developed with Hal Mumme in the 1990s. Leach's offenses have broken numerous school and NCAA records.
Leach was hired after the 2019 season to be the head coach for the Mississippi State Bulldogs where he coached for 3 seasons before passing away on December 11th, 2022.
