About Nick Rolovich
Nick Rolovich was hired as the head football coach on January 13th, 2020 to replace Mike Leach. He brought with him the pass-oriented run and shoot offense. The 2020 season was delayed and cut short due to the covid-19 pandemic. With only 4 games played the team went 1-3.
Coach Rolovich was fired October 18th 2021 before completing his first full season. The team was 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the Pac-12 North. Coming off a 3 game winning streak. He was terminated for refusing to get the covid-19 vaccine as mandated by Jay Inslee, the Governor of Washington State.
Prior to WSU, Coach Rolo was the head coach at Hawaii between 2016-2019, where he wrapped up his final season with 10 wins and a division title. Rolo was named Mountain West coach of the year for 2019 and his Hawaii team went 2-1 against pac-12 teams that year.
Rolovich is known for his zany personality, where he brought a tarot card reader, a Britney Spears impersonator, and an Elvis Presley impersonator to Mountain West Conference Media Days during his head coaching days at Hawaii. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rolovich went around Washington State's Pullman campus on a bicycle FaceTimeing a recruit with a phone taped to his bike helmet to show the recruit what Pullman and the campus looked like.
