Today I bring you to Red Hill Fire Brigade. As with all CFA Brigades, the members here are all volunteers.
Apart from having two Tankers & a Forward Command Vehicle (FCV), Red Hill also has a "Big Fill", which is a specialist piece of equipment. It is basically a big pump on wheels and is used to establish a water point from almost any dam or other water source. This is such a vital part of Red Hill's fleet due to the fact that almost all of Red Hill's response area is not connected to reticulated water (aka "town water").
If you're here on a Sunday morning, you may notice the members doing "Sunday Duty". This is where they check over the trucks, equipment, station and also might brush up on some training. Feel free to head over, say g'day & check out how things are done! Kids are welcome too!
