I'm finally getting this series started! If you've been around Searcy enough you will know there have been several geocaches in this vicinity. If you go back about 50 feet you will find an area that truely does get "boggish." I knew when I started this series that this would be the perfect spot for my BoES cache! While I'm working to get permission on some others, I thought I'd go ahead and get this one out there--hopefully in a spot a bit more enduring!
Labyrinth is a 1986 musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson with George Lucas as executive producer. The film stars Jennifer Connelly as 16-year-old Sarah and David Bowie as Jareth, the Goblin King. In the film, Sarah embarks on a quest to reach the center of an enormous, otherworldly maze to rescue her infant half-brother Toby, whom she wished away to Jareth.
The Bog of Eternal Stench is a swampy body of "water" that Jareth uses as a threat to his subjects ... and where Sarah and Hoggle land during her journey. The bog regularly emits unpleasant sounds and sends forth a repulsive odor. Hoggle shares that if you put so much as one toe in the Bog you will smell bad....forever. Hoggle is terrified of the bog. The bog can be crossed through a bridge, guarded by Sir Didymus, and lies en route to the Goblin City.
Only a few feet into the woods you should look for a matchstick case. Flooding shouldn't be an issue for the cache, but do watch for soggy ground if there have ben heavy rains. Be safe and have fun in your search .... avoid the bog nearby.
