Announcement: The event is a group thing, but getting the cache (GC8G3H0 - Yippee Kayak!) will need to be an individual effort since there is a very small space to land watercraft on the island before making ascent up to GZ (intel says that the hike up is at least a T3.5). Everyone can be on the water at once, but we will need to take turns getting on land and climbing to the cache. Some of you may want to arrive early to get the cache before the event starts. I will hang out after the official end of this event so that everyone who wishes to get the geo treasure will have a chance to do so.
This is a gathering of the WSGA 48 North Chapter. I have long wanted to grab the cache on the island in the middle of Campbell Lake (GC8G3H0 -Yippee Kayak!), but do not have a personal watercraft. If you are in the same "boat" this is the event for you. I have enlisted the help of some geo friends and there will be some extra kayaks for those who want to get a high terrain cache, but lack a flotation device. If you have an extra kayak, boat, or milk jug raft, feel free to bring it to share with our land locked geo friends.
This event will be held in the water just west of the boat launch. I will bring some snacks to share. There is plenty of parking, but you will need a Discover Pass to park at the Boat Launch. Remember your water and sunscreen.
