This is my first hide! Woohoo!
Down at the bottom there's important information about the hide, so skip there if you'd like. I'm hiding this one for two reasons - 1 is that the day I placed this cache marks 6 months since I started geocaching. 2 is that it's about time I hide a cache!! I procrastinated for so long, partly because I was very indecisive about what I wanted my first hide to be. I imagined maybe it would be a tree climb, but I decided against that. I knew I wanted to do it here in Elm Grove Park, since I live near here and came to this park a lot when I was a kid, so it holds a special place in my heart. I realized that I wanted it to be a classic traditional hide that would hopefully last a long time and bring smiles to lots of folks, including kids, which is why I made it an ammo can with plenty of swag in it, so bring some little trinkets to trade!
I went with the name Genesis partly because it reminds me of the book of the Bible and partly because it means "beginning" and this cache is the beginning of my adventures hiding caches instead of just finding them, which I'm certainly excited for.
IMPORTANT INFO:
Be warned that there'll be some dense bushwhacking right before you approach GZ, which is why I'm upping the terrain a bit. There are some thorns, so dress appropriately!
Make sure you park at Elm Grove Park by the soccer field and don't attempt this one by walking through someone's yard. The park is only open dawn to dusk so no caching after dark!! Feel free to tell me all about your journey in your log. There is an FTF sticker as a prize for the FTF. Enjoy!!
