Some Friends and I were having a drink at the pub recently when we met a charismatic guy who was backpacking around Australia. He had so many stories of the adventures he had been on, some of them sounded like he was playing a worldwide treasure hunting game. Anyway, during the evening he pulled out a card game he likes to play on his travels. It wasn’t your typical card game with numbers, this game had letters and you had to spell words with the cards. The calligraphy on the cards was pretty and unique, apparently it was inspired by Celtic manuscripts from 500-800 AD.
Eventually we had to call it a night as the pub was closing so it was one last trip to the ladies’ room before leaving. When we finally got out of the pub our new friend was nowhere to be seen. We all soon realized we had a bit too much to drink and couldn’t remember the name of our new friend or the new game we had played with him. All we had was a photo Wendy took on her phone of some of the cards and the piece of paper he used to score the game, though I don’t think he finished scoring it… It appears he might have tried to leave us some sort of clue to find one of the secret treasures he was telling us about, but we have no idea where to start. Maybe you will have better luck?
