Batavia Street Fynbos Area is just over two years old and is in need of constant maintenance and upkeep to give the indigenous vegetation a chance to re establish.
To do this it is needs annual weeding to rid the area of invasive plants that have established seed beds in the area.
We have had a CITO for Patterson Curse, Port Jackson and Devils thorn, and now it is the turn of the invasive Mustard Seed plants.
Come join me on this day with the focus on removing the newly growing Mustard plants.
The idea is to get whatever shoots we can find and prevent an infestation rather than having to remove big plants and fully seeded thorn plants two months from now.
Please bring own tools to collect rubbish, gloves and a garden spade I find works well to get the Port jacksons out the ground.
With a little bit of luch we may have another Bar One cake for after, hint hint (if she reads so far).
