The Ngahopua Track (Twin Lakes Track) is a short loop walk located in Lake Ōkataina Scenic Reserve. It takes you through outstanding tall native trees with birdsong and views of two small crater lakes of Rotongata and Rotoatua. The track is marked with orange triangles and starts from opposite the side road to the Outdoor Education Centre on Lake Ōkataina Road. It is approximately 2 kms so allow just under an hour if you are doing the loop track.
The cache is located beside a very tall "stump" approximately 12 metres off track.
NB: There is no cellphone coverage at the cache location, so make sure you have saved a copy of the cache information page and taken note of the clue before you head out.
