Nous sommes dans la Calestienne (donc une bande de calcaire issue du récif corallien du Frasnien. 375 millions d’années) et dans une vallée sèche.
Pas si sèche que cela. La partie avec les grandes herbes est une zone humide.
Aventurez-vous vers le milieu de cette zone et vous rencontrerez une petit ruisseau. Mais d’où vient-il et où va-t-il ?
Une particularité du calcaire est qu'il est soluble par l’eau (malgré que le calcaire est une roche compacte et dure).
Mais pas n’importe quelle eau. Une eau (H2O) avec du gaz carbonique (CO2). En fait, cette association nous donne une eau acide et cet acide va dissoudre la roche calcaire.
L’eau acide va s’infiltrer dans les petites fissures et va les ouvrir doucement pour enfin nous donner des conduits souterrains. C’est le début de l’effet « grotte ».
Voici les questions qui vous permettront de loguer cette EC en « Found it ».
1. Que se passe-t-il en amont et en aval des coordonnées. Y a-t-il présence d’un ruisseau comme devant vous ?
2. Dans le trou qui est 17 mètres au N-E de la coordonnée, Que voyez-vous dans le fond ?

4. Sont-ils creusés par le haut ou par le bas. S ‘agit-il de creusement ou d’effondrement ?
