Railroads crossing through people's yards? Yeah, the Southern Railway spurs would literally cut behind, between and in front of houses if necessary to get to the loading docks of the cotton mills or finishing plant. It could be incoming raw materials needed for production or maybe outgoing "finished goods" or at least as finished as this plant was going to get it in the process on the box cars that were passing as close as 40 feet from someone's bedroom there on the MILL HILL.
Now, this particular rail spur location has been turned in to a walking trail and a decorative side rail has been added as well. The cache can be found while you are getting your steps in for the day walking the trail... or you can just park within twenty feet of the cache for an easy pick up.
