[LV] Nāves sala, kas kādreiz bija izteikta pussala Daugavas kreisajā krastā, ir viena no zināmākajām vietām Latvijā, kas saistīta ar Pirmā pasaules kara notikumiem - laika posmā no 1915. gada rudens līdz 1917. gada jūlijam. Pēc Latvijas valsts dibināšanas, prezidents Jānis Čakste 1924. gada 27. jūlijā atklāja pieminekli Nāves salas aizstāvjiem. Pēc Rīgas HES ūdenskrātuves uzpludināšanas pussala izveidojusies par salu pagājušā gadsimta sešdesmitajos gados.
Mūsdienās tikko kā atzīmēta pieminekļa simtgade, rekonstruēta zemnīca un aizsardzību pozīciju elementi, izveidoti dažādi informatīvie stendi, labiekārtota piknika vieta un piestātne, nupat tapis jauns vides objekts un vēl šis tas, par ko uzzināsi, izkāpjot uz Nāves salas.

[EN] Death Island, which was once a prominent peninsula on the left bank of the Daugava River, is one of the most well-known sites in Latvia related to World War I, spanning from the autumn of 1915 to July 1917. After the establishment of the Latvian state, President Jānis Čakste unveiled a monument to the defenders of Death Island on July 27, 1924. The peninsula transformed into an island in the 1960s due to the flooding caused by the Riga Hydroelectric Power Plant reservoir.
In recent times, the centenary of the monument has just been commemorated. A bunker and defense position elements have been reconstructed, various informational stands have been set up, and a picnic area and dock have been developed. A new environmental object has just been created, along with a few other features you will discover upon arriving at Death Island.
