Dąb "Przewodnik" powstał prawdopodobnie w połowie XIX wieku, gdy dzisiejsze osiedle Huby stanowiło jeszcze zielone przedmieścia Wrocławia. Przez dziesięciolecia dąb rósł swobodnie w obrębie tak zwanego „Małpiego Gaju” – dzikiego zieleńca, który szczęśliwie przetrwał oblężenie miasta w 1945 roku. Prawdziwa próba nadeszła jednak w latach 70. XX wieku, gdy w jego bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie rozpoczęto trwającą dwie dekady budowę betonowego dworca autobusowego. Drzewo nie tylko ocalało, ale stało się naturalnym punktem orientacyjnym dla podróżnych, co w 2003 roku zaowocowało nadaniem mu statusu pomnika przyrody oraz imienia „Przewodnik” z inicjatywy wrocławskich przewodników miejskich. Najbardziej krytyczny moment w historii dębu nastąpił około 2014 roku, kiedy stary dworzec wyburzono pod budowę ogromnego kompleksu handlowo-biurowego Wroclavia. Choć wiele sąsiednich drzew wówczas wycięto, „Przewodnik” stał się symbolem walki o miejską zieleń. Aby go uratować, architekci musieli skorygować projekt całego budynku – elewacja została specjalnie cofnięta i uformowana w łuk, by zrobić miejsce dla rozłożystej korony. Pod ziemią zastosowano zaawansowane technologie, instalując systemy nawadniające i napowietrzające, które rekompensują dębowi odcięcie od naturalnych wód gruntowych przez fundamenty galerii. The "Przewodnik" oak tree was likely founded in the mid-19th century, when today's Huby district was still a leafy suburb of Wrocław. For decades, the oak grew freely within the so-called "Monkey Grove" – a wild green area that luckily survived the siege of the city in 1945. The real test, however, came in the 1970s, when construction of a concrete bus station began in its immediate vicinity, lasting two decades. The tree not only survived but also became a natural landmark for travelers, which in 2003 resulted in its being granted the status of a natural monument and the name "Przewodnik" at the initiative of Wrocław's city guides. The most critical moment in the oak's history occurred around 2014, when the old station was demolished to make way for the construction of the massive Wroclavia shopping and office complex. Although many neighboring trees were then cut down, the "Przewodnik" tree became a symbol of the fight for urban greenery. To save it, the architects had to revise the entire building's design – the facade was deliberately recessed and arched to make room for the spreading crown. Advanced technologies were used underground, installing irrigation and aeration systems that compensate for the oak's disconnection from natural groundwater by the gallery's foundations. Today, as a finalist in the 2020 Tree of the Year competition, the "Przewodnik" oak represents a unique example of harmony between two centuries-old nature and modern glass and concrete architecture.

The cache is a magnetic pet attached to the other side of the fence. It's easiest to feel for it, but watch out for the thorns! This is one of the most crowded places in Wrocław, so especially watch out for muggles. Po celá desetiletí dub volně rostl v tzv. „Opičím háji“ – divoké zelené oblasti, která naštěstí přežila obléhání města v roce 1945. Skutečná zkouška však přišla v 70. letech 20. století, kdy v jeho bezprostřední blízkosti začala výstavba betonového autobusového nádraží, která trvala dvě desetiletí. Strom nejen přežil, ale stal se také přírodní dominantou pro cestovatele, což v roce 2003 vedlo k tomu, že z iniciativy vratislavských průvodců městem získal status přírodní památky a název „Przewodnik“. Nejkritičtější okamžik v historii dubu nastal kolem roku 2014, kdy bylo staré nádraží zbouráno, aby uvolnilo místo pro výstavbu masivního nákupního a kancelářského komplexu Wroclavia. Ačkoli bylo poté pokáceno mnoho sousedních stromů, strom „Przewodnik“ se stal symbolem boje za městskou zeleň. Aby jej zachránili, museli architekti přepracovat celý design budovy – fasáda byla záměrně zapuštěna a klenuta, aby uvolnila místo pro rozložitou korunu. Keš je magnetická mikronádoba připevněná na druhé straně plotu. Nejsnadněji se najde, ale pozor na trny! Toto je jedno z nejrušnějších míst ve Vratislavi, takže si především dejte pozor na mudly. Nejde o to čekat na okamžik, kdy v okolí nebudou žádní mudlové, protože to je prakticky nemožné, ale počkat na okamžik, kdy jich bude méně než obvykle.

Jahrzehntelang wuchs die Eiche ungestört im sogenannten „Affenhain“ – einer wilden Grünfläche, die die Belagerung der Stadt im Jahr 1945 glücklicherweise überstand. Die eigentliche Bewährungsprobe kam jedoch in den 1970er-Jahren, als in unmittelbarer Nähe der Bau eines Busbahnhofs aus Beton begann, der zwei Jahrzehnte dauerte. Der Baum überlebte nicht nur, sondern wurde auch zu einem natürlichen Wahrzeichen für Reisende, was 2003 dazu führte, dass er auf Initiative der Breslauer Stadtführer zum Naturdenkmal erklärt und „Przewodnik“ genannt wurde. Der kritischste Moment in der Geschichte der Eiche ereignete sich um 2014, als der alte Bahnhof abgerissen wurde, um Platz für den Bau des riesigen Einkaufs- und Bürokomplexes Wroclavia zu schaffen. Obwohl viele benachbarte Bäume gefällt wurden, wurde die Eiche „Przewodnik“ zum Symbol des Kampfes für urbanes Grün. Um sie zu retten, mussten die Architekten den gesamten Entwurf des Gebäudes überarbeiten – die Fassade wurde bewusst zurückgesetzt und gewölbt, um der ausladenden Krone Platz zu geben.
